Dr. Azan Salem Binbrek is a Consultant Cardiologist at Rashid Hospital in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Dr. Binbrek was educated in the UK. He received his MBChB from the University of Glasgow in 1971. He obtained various qualifications subsequently in the UK: DCH, Glasgow in 1973; MRCP, UK in 1975; FRCP, Edinburgh in 1986; and FRCP, London in 1988.
Dr. Binbrek was a house officer in medicine, surgery, and paediatrics in Glasgow from 1971 to 1973 and became a registrar of medicine in Ayrshire thereafter. He rotated in the Departments of Medicine in Glasgow from 1974 to 1976. Dr. Binbrek returned to Dubai in 1976 and worked as a specialist in Medicine. In 1978, he went back to London and was a research fellow in Cardiology until 1980. He settled in Dubai afterward and became a Consultant Cardiologist in 1984.
Dr. Binbreak is actively involved in clinical trials. He was the principal investigator for the Continuous Infusion versus Double-Bolus Administration and the Assessment of the Safety of a New Thrombolytic (ASSENT) I, II, and III studies. He has also published articles on various clinical studies, meta-analyses, and registry studies conducted in the UAE and the Middle East, and has presented abstracts at international congresses.
