Aviation Medicine, also known as aerospace medicine, is a medical specialty which combines aspects of preventive, occupational, environmental and clinical medicine with the physiology and psychology of man in flight. It is concerned with the health, safety, selection and performance of those who are a part of aviation – Crew, Air Traffic Controllers, Ground Staff and Passengers.
At GMCClinics in Dubai, we offer a comprehensive suite of aviation medical services. We are a GCAA-approved medical clinic and have been conducting aviation medical examinations since 2001. Our services comply with the guidelines of various aviation authorities including GCAA, CASA, and CASAS These exams are designed to ensure that those involved in air travel are fit and healthy to do so, reducing the risk of in-flight medical emergencies.
Dr Anirudh Agrawal is experienced with over 23 years’ experience as an Aeromedical Examiner and an Aviation Medicine Specialist. He is presently licensed to conduct medical examinations for GCAA(UAE), CASA(Australia) and CASAS(Suriname).
Aviation medicine is not just about conducting physical exams. It is about flight safety and risk management. The aim is to ensure that the personnel are medically fit and capable of handling the environmental, physiological, and psychological pressures of aviation. It is about ensuring that the crew are fit as per the guidelines laid down by the regulator and to ensure there is minimal risk to flight safety while ensuring that the personnel involved can continue working / return to work as early as possible. The goal is to ensure the safety and wellbeing of everyone involved in aviation, from the crew to the passengers.
